Success Story: With Grades Released, my first semester is officially over.

I woke up to the amazing grades I prayed for! Thank you God! I worked hard and prayed hard for this! I was so anxious because If I messed up my take-home in Syntax I could have gotten an 70+ or a D, and if my SLA prof didn’t like my final paper, I could have a D. But God answered my prayer.  I can only get to the syntax grade of 91 if I perfect the take-home exam (which my professor confirmed). Thank you God! By the way, HD is the highest grade at ANU (Cambridge minimum for entry is a 75 or a D, or 85 in the Philippines); if you’re from the Philippines, the 80-90 range is like our 90-100 marks. Even if it’s a top institution, I still managed to sweep all HDs. Maintained marks since elementary! So far, I only have 75 and 73 in all of my assessments. All else are in HD!

Second: Qualitative Data Analysis (The one I messed up!) I only got 75! My numbering didn’t work

Final: Research Proposal! I appreciate this feedback the most because it shows my areas of improvement!

*Language and Interaction*

Being trained by the expert in the Field, Dr. Diana Slade is already something to be grateful for.

The 82 mark is the highest in the exam, the professor said. And this is the assessment where I felt God really worked for me. I remember doing the exam with my writing hand shaking because I knew one hour wouldn’t be enough, but while answering I prayed so hard. I admit I cried after that exam. Little did I know the professor liked it!

First Assessment: 55/57

Second Assessment: 73!  My lowest paper! I submitted it late and that’s a paper on clausal nominalisation, comparing Spanish and Greek. The language of my professor and one of his expertise.  Plus I still continued with the advance concepts, even if my professor has already advised me not to. I will update this once I collect the paper (no matter how brutal the comments might be!)
